Your vehicle is made up of a variety of components and systems, all of which need to be in good working order for your car to be reliable and perform well. While all the systems in your vehicle are important, your tires are the car’s foundation, and they should always be in great shape if you and the other drivers on the road are going to stay safe. Your tires grip the road, dictate handling and braking, and help provide a comfortable, smooth ride that can make your vehicle a joy to drive.

While most modern tires are designed to stand up to tough terrain and all kinds of hazards on the road, punctures and blowouts happen, and they can be incredibly distressing. Not only can you find yourself stuck on the side of the highway, but you could also end up having to pay an expensive repair bill to have your tire fixed or replaced.

Because your tires are such an integral part of your vehicle, the Endurance Elite tire replacement benefit can be a big weight off your shoulders. Knowing that you can get the tire repair or replacement you need as soon as it comes up can give you peace of mind whenever you are on the road. Let’s review Endurance tire coverage and how you can use it to stay safe behind the wheel will help you make the right choice for yourself, your car, and your bank account.

What Is the Endurance Tire Replacement Benefit?

An extended auto warranty, more accurately called a vehicle service contract (VSC) or auto protection plan, is a great way to keep your vehicle in good condition and protect yourself from high repair bills or expensive breakdowns. When you buy a new vehicle at the dealership, it will come with a manufacturer’s warranty provided by the automaker.

The manufacturer’s or factory warranty is meant to protect you from issues with the car’s design or problems during the production process. Once it is over, though, you will be solely responsible for any repairs that need to be made, and this can be a serious financial burden that an extended car warranty can help with.

A vehicle protection plan from Endurance Warranty Services allows you to continue your coverage and get help with repair costs so you don’t get waylaid by a major car issue. In addition to excellent repair coverage, Endurance also provides a host of standard benefits like 24/7 roadside assistance (with lockout services and towing), rental car reimbursement, and trip interruption protection.

You can also get access to the Endurance Elite Benefits program as an add-on for a small activation fee. Take advantage of over $2,000 in extra perks that include key fob replacement, total loss protection, collision discounts — and, most importantly, tire replacement or repair.*

Unlike with other warranty companies, with the Endurance tire replacement benefit, you can always be certain that your tires are in good condition and that you will be safe on the road. Whether you are faced with a small puncture or major tire damage, with this benefit, you can rest easy knowing that you can get the repair or replacement you need. In addition to all the other benefits that come with an Endurance coverage plan, having tire benefits can be a great confidence boost when you are in the driver’s seat.

How the Tire Repair and Replacement Process Works

The tire replacement benefit has two parts: repair and replacement. This is a repair-first benefit, which means that the repair facility will have to take a look at the tire and its damage to determine the best course of action.

Depending on the extent of the damage to the tire, a certified technician may be able to simply repair the puncture and get you on your way. If, however, the damage is a little more serious and can not be patched up, the tire may need to be replaced.

The tire repair and replacement benefit can be used up to four times per membership term with reimbursement of up to $150 per incident. This gives you a total of $600 toward tire repair or replacement.

If you live in an area like a big city where there can be a lot of road hazards like nails, debris, or other items in the road that can damage your tires, this is an essential benefit for you and your car. Having it in place will ensure that you can get your tires repaired when an incident occurs and that you won’t be stuck having to constantly pay for patching or tire replacement.

What Is and Isn’t Covered Under the Elite Tire Benefit

While the tire replacement benefit is fairly comprehensive, there are some exclusions that you should be aware of. One of the most important things to remember is that this benefit will cover up to $150 per incident with your tires, whether they need to be repaired or replaced, and can be used up to four times throughout the membership term, giving you a total of $600 in tire warranty coverage. This benefit only applies to road hazards like punctures and other damage and does not cover things like normal wear and tear, bald spots, or worn tread.

There may be some additional costs that come along with a tire repair or replacement as well. Things like mounting, balancing, shop supplies, Tire Pressure Monitoring System components, and taxes may come along with a tire service and will not be covered by the tire benefit. If your tire has also received damage due to not having sufficient tread or being too worn to be safely used on the road, the tire benefit will not cover it.

How to File a Claim for Tire Repair or Replacement

When one of your tires is damaged, you’ll want to follow these steps:

  1. Authorization. Obtain authorization for the tire repair or replacement from your Elite Benefits administrator. Your original Elite Benefits membership contract will have all the necessary information about your particular administrator and their authorization process.
  2. Approval. Once your administrator approves the tire repair or replacement, have a certified repair shop of your choice get started. When your vehicle is ready, you’ll need to pay the repair shop directly for the work performed before submitting your claim for reimbursement.
  3. Reimbursement. When your tire repairs are complete, you will then want to send your paperwork to your administrator for reimbursement. Include a copy of your paid invoice, repair order, Elite Benefits membership page, and a completed Tire Claim Form (included in your contract or sent to you by the administrator).

Note: You only have 60 days from the claim origination to turn this paperwork in and get reimbursed. See your Elite Benefits membership contract for further details.

Endurance Elite Tire Benefit FAQs

What types of tire damage are covered?

The types of tire damage included in your Elite Benefits coverage include punctures, cuts, and other damage that can occur due to a road hazard. Curb damage and cosmetic damage are not included and neither are things like normal wear and tear or worn tread. If you are driving your vehicle and your tire is damaged due to something like a nail, road debris, or glass, though, this will usually be covered under your plan as long as it is authorized by the administrator.

Can I replace my tires for normal wear and tear?

The Elite Benefits tire coverage does not include standard wear and tear that will happen to tires regardless of road hazards or other issues. All tires are susceptible to normal wear and will eventually need to be replaced. In fact, if your tires have tread that is below 2/32”, they will not be covered by your tire repair or replacement benefit at all, which is why it is so important to stay on top of tire maintenance and check your tread regularly while also getting tire rotations and other auto repair procedures that are crucial for new and used cars.

Do I need pre-authorization for a tire repair or replacement?

Before any work can be done on your vehicle’s tires, you will need to get authorization from your Elite Benefits contract administrator. This will ensure that the cause of your tire issue is covered under your membership contract and that you are going to be able to get the proper documentation to have your claim approved. While you may be in a hurry to get your tire repaired, getting authorization first is a great way to ensure that the claims process goes smoothly and that you will be able to get the repairs you need.
